Unit Secretary Task Force
Important to continue to use unit secretaries. Ask H R to develop a template and standard PD to illustrate and define core duties for unit secretaries in order to achieve general consistency across the organization. Units can add special duties as needed.
Finance
Stuart Smith stated the B & C Board met on Tuesday of this week and approved another $100 million Medicaid deficit reduction. But the proviso that protects provider rates will still be removed. There is a separate proviso however that does not allow one state agency to shift costs to another agency and it’s expected this will enable MUHA to avoid the 3% reimbursement reduction expected to commence in April 2011. In any event, we are expecting a 10% Medicaid reimbursement reduction in FY 2011/2012 amounting to $20 million.
Casey Liddy stated our 5/5 plans are holding costs steady from the base period (1 year and 8 months ago). We are basically flat but the positive is we have absorbed the cost of inflation and pay increase. We are hopeful to see results from the 5/5 plan kick in over the next 3 to 4 months.
